Booking requests

desk@willowmilepress.com

Willow Mile Press is an independent travel agency in St Louis, Missouri, and it is a working booking office, not a publisher of any kind. Nothing here scores a place, grades a place, or sorts places into an order of merit. There is no page on this site where you can find out what somebody else thought of their week away, because the office does not collect that and would not print it if it did. What it has instead is twenty five trips it can actually reserve, and a set of plain facts about each one: how far it is from an airport, what the water does in a given month, how many hours a day are spent moving, what the room costs before anything is added to it.

The catalogue here is arranged backward from how these things are normally arranged. The front of it, at what this desk reserves for each request, is a list of twenty five things people ask this office for that this office does not arrange. Santorini in the first week of July. The Amalfi Coast. A Caribbean resort with the wristband. Kyoto during blossom. A week on the Danube. The Camino Frances. Each of those wishes has a page, and each page starts by saying what is genuinely good about the thing you asked for, because in every single case there is something genuinely good about it or nobody would be asking. Then it says what the office knows about crowding, heat, transit time or price at that particular moment, and then it offers the trip it would put in front of you instead. You are free to read the reason and disagree with it. Plenty of people do, and they go anyway, and that is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

The reason the refusals are honest rather than decorative is that this office does not get paid at the point of sale. It is paid a commission by the operating company, after you have gone and come back. If a trip is a poor fit for the person asking, the office finds that out later, in the form of a booking that fell apart or a person who never asks for anything again. So there is no advantage here in saying yes to a request the office cannot serve well, and there is a real cost. That is the whole mechanism, and it is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up as principle.

Where the reservation is placed from

Willow Mile Press Bookings LLC, known to callers as Willow Mile Press, keeps a desk at 230 S. Bemiston Ave, Suite 914, Clayton, MO 63105, in the St Louis metro. Written notes go to desk@willowmilepress.com and the desk answers on +1 (314) 862-4517.

This is an independent booking office. No aircraft, no rooms, no vessel and no vehicle belong to it; it is neither a tour operator nor an online booking site, and nobody in that trade owns it, endorses it or speaks for it. It holds no card details, takes no payment, and issues no ticket in its own name. It sells no airfare and no sea passage of its own and holds no contract with any airline or shipping line; where a trip includes time on the water, the operating company holds that passage under its own licence and bills you for it. The company that runs your trip invoices you itself, on its own paperwork and under its own contract and that contract is the one that binds.

Arranged by Willow Mile Press Bookings LLC | Operated by the company named on your confirmation // Taking your request, checking dates and rooms against what is actually available, putting the reservation in place, and writing to you when it is confirmed | Flying the aircraft, running the boat, holding the room, driving the coach, guiding the walk, and every part of the trip once it begins // Sending you a written figure priced against your dates, with what is in it and what is not | Billing you directly, under its own terms and its own cancellation rules, which arrive with your confirmation // Correcting anything on these pages that turns out to be wrong, and telling you when a detail has changed | Deciding whether to run a departure, and setting the price it charges you

Where the responsibility actually sits

Two companies are involved in any reservation made through this site, and it matters which one you are dealing with at any given moment. Willow Mile Press Bookings LLC arranges. The operating company performs. This office owns no aircraft, no rooms, no vessel and no vehicle, and is neither a tour operator nor an online travel agent, and it is not affiliated with any of them. It has no ownership in anything it books, no exclusive arrangement with anyone, and no reason to steer you toward a particular company beyond whether that company can do the thing you asked for on the dates you asked for.

No money changes hands here. This office takes no payment from travelers, holds no card number, has no checkout, and there is no field anywhere on this site that accepts one. When your reservation is placed, the operating company bills you directly and its terms are the terms that govern the trip. The cancellation rules that apply to you are that company's rules, not this office's, and they will be in your confirmation in writing before you are committed to anything. What this office can tell you in advance about how those rules usually work is at what happens if you have to pull out, and the sequence a request moves through from first message to confirmation is set out at how a reservation is placed here.

There are things this office will not do at all, and the list is short and firm. It does not advise on entry documents of any kind. It does not sell or arrange travel insurance. It gives no medical advice and no legal advice, and if a trip raises a question in one of those areas the honest answer is that you need someone qualified in that field and this is not that. It will say so rather than guessing, which is less satisfying than a confident answer but considerably more useful.

An open barn doorway framing green hills and a track running away, cool even daylight, empty floor, nothing stored

What a request gets you, and how fast

This office keeps no counter hours and publishes none, because a printed opening time would be a promise about a person rather than about the work. What is promised instead is a deadline: every request that reaches the form is read in the order it arrived and answered within one business day, and if the answer needs longer than that you will get a note saying so and what it is waiting on.

A first reply is not a price. It is somebody reading what you wrote and telling you whether the office can do it, which of the twenty five trips fits, and what is missing from the request that has to be settled before anybody can quote a number. Requests are read in the order they arrive and answered within one business day. Getting an actual number onto paper for the days you named runs two to four working days beyond that, because it involves asking the operating company what those dates cost rather than repeating a number off a page. Everything in the catalogue is priced from $1,500 to $5,070 per person, and the figure you receive will say what is inside it and what is not.

Nothing about this office is automated on the way out. It will not telephone you, it runs no mailing list, and there is no newsletter to be added to. If you write, somebody writes back; if you do not write again, the correspondence ends there. Questions that come up often enough to be worth answering in advance are at the questions people actually ask, and if you already know your dates and would rather skip straight to the number, start at how to ask for a price. If something on any of these pages is factually wrong, send it to corrections@willowmilepress.com and it will be fixed and the change noted, within one business day.

Send this desk a booking request

This form is open 24/7 and takes booking requests at any hour. It asks for no card number and no payment, because nothing is ever paid to this office. Requests are read in the order they arrive and answered within one business day.

No card number is asked for on this page or held anywhere by this office, and sending this costs nothing and commits you to nothing. A request is not a reservation: nothing is held in your name until the operating company confirms it in writing and you have read its terms.
